One half of iconic British duo Basement Jaxx, Felix Buxton, and vocalist Gia debut on Defected with ‘So Hooked On Your Lovin’’, a soul-laden cut accompanied by two groove-filled Mousse T. remixes.

This first release under their Selace alias comes loaded with engulfing organ chords and a raw, impressive vocal performance, evoking the minimalist aesthetic of Switch’s ‘I Still Love You’ and with a similar emotional depth to early 90’s classic Massive Attack’s ‘Unfinished Sympathy’.

Production master Mousse T. does his thing with his funk-drenched Disco Shizzle version, packed with powerful bass and guitar riffs, and a deeper Dubby Shizzle version, marked by a spoken word hook.

With Selace, less is more: a minimalist yet undeniably impactful record, which lets the song —and its magnetism— speak for themselves.
