As the label celebrates 35 years, Tresor Records' ongoing reissue series arrives at Scan 7’s 1999 album, Resurfaced.

A true exemplar within the Detroit techno canon, the LP is yet another showcase of Scan 7’s confidence in letting music patiently unfold, without needing to overstate its resources. This is clear from the very first second, as “Random Soul” opens with a slow downbeat and gentle, almost imperceptible synths, before quickly settling into a perfect groove whose power is present without requiring obvious harshness. This strategy continues throughout the album on tracks like “Black Wall” and “Unit Seven,” while “Invisible Invasion” and “Twisted Groov” add greater intensity for deeper club moments.

Remastered by Mike Grinser from the original DATs, the double vinyl features all eight original album tracks, while the digital version (and cassette edition) incorporates two bonus tracks: “Custom Made” and “Mind Trap.”
