Sasha & Sentre - Glastacy [Last Night On Earth]

Electronic titan Sasha joins Sentre for the latest release in a series of collaborations. The release of ‘Glastacy’ coincides with this year’s Glastonbury festival and brings something special for fans.

Even by his own high standards, electronic luminary Sasha is on a magnificent run that has already produced some stellar singles in the last year, both solo and in collaboration with like-minded talents. The Grammy-nominated artist is known for pushing musical and technological boundaries, as well as promoting exciting sounds on his Last Night On Earth (LNOE) label. The upcoming release finds him working with Sentre, aka Dave Gardner and Dennis White, who have been electronic mainstays for many years. They have many important credits to their name, including working with Sasha on his seminal ‘Involver’ album and also 'Track 10', which they made with Sasha many years ago. It was Pete Tong’s Essential Tune at the time and is one of many gems from these self-confessed studio geeks.

The release of ‘Glastacy’ also marks a new approach for Sasha and LNOE, as they extend their relationship with fans beyond music. For the first time, along with the single’s release, fans will be able to collect and own the single’s artwork for free. The label has always sought to unite music and art in all its releases and now fans have the opportunity to own a piece themselves. Using pioneering technology, those who claim the art will also be able to convert it into a smartphone wallet pass which will bring with it future benefits and surprises from Sasha and LNOE.

‘Glastacy’ is their latest collaboration, and it works with angelic and wordless vocal sounds on celestial loops that fade in and out. Subtle hi-hat strokes and a supple bassline bring movement while a lead synth motif emerges from the mix to bring dramatic tension and carry dancers into the stars. It is emotive and hypnotic techno of the highest order, with a goose-bump-inducing break leading to more trance-induced musical pleasures.
