Sascha Funke - Zug Um Zug [Kompakt]

German producer Sascha Funke has a long and fruitful relationship with the Cologne Kompakt outlet going all the way back to the release of the "Compass" single through the label in 1999, and lately this has manifested itself via Saschienne. The ongoing musical project between Funke and wife Julienne Dessagne, the "Saschienne 2012" album, was full of deep, engrossing techno, and it's an approach he adopts on this "Zug Un Zug" 12-inch. The lead cut is pure Funke, gradually building from a few elements to become a highly dramatic dancefloor epic, with perfectly placed piano chords. It's complemented well by the urgent energy of "Alles In Allem", further distinguished by some bizarre synth work. Hypnotic!
