Frankfurt producer Rupert Hartick plugs into his hometown’s rich house and tech history with four hypnotic and effective cuts for Dutch imprint Memoria. “PSM” opens with a dub vibe and alien sound effects that sweep throughout the mix. “I’m Going” features a dusty sound with attitude, understated in character with an eerie sense of abstraction when you dive into its details. “Funky Devil” is tougher and more determined, yet still packed with off-kilter sounds that keep the groove alive. “Ancient Rhythm” closes with punch and plenty of swing for those late-night hours where teeth are gritted and feet are locked into the rhythm.
