Chicago native Ron Trent is considered one of the great masters of the second wave of deep house, pushing the subgenre into increasingly dense, smoky, and soulful territories alongside his colleague Chez Damier in the mid-90s. His catalog is the definition of timeless, and his tracks fit into current sets as naturally as they did back then.

Only One now re-releases one of his more discreet gems with Jessie on “I Feel The Rhythm.” The original is simple and effective, with just the right dose of vocal samples and smooth drums. However, the Inner Experience version is the true gem: it's full of spiritual melodies and jazzy motifs, plus subtle touches of toms and congas. Paul Johnson's remix is a bit more restrained, with precise swing and sustained chords that bring a sense of cosmic infinitude and an almost distracted lightness.
