Almost 30 years after its original release, and accompanying the reissue of 'Internal Empire', Tresor Records is proud to present a new pressed edition of Robert Hood's essential EP “Master Builder”.

This work elevates its creator to master status and remains one of the most cherished moments in Tresor's history, sharing a unique and irrefutable magic that still sounds as relevant and indispensable as when it was first created. Originally released in 1994 and 1995, 'Internal Empire' and “Master Builder” mark a transitional moment for Robert Hood, moving away from his previous collaborations within Underground Resistance.

With this work, Robert Hood delved into the discovery of the power of true minimalism: deep soul expressed through a simplicity that showed how much could be achieved with so little. The devastating rhythms of this album forge the unparalleled spirit of this sound and influenced entire generations that would come after.

“25 years ago, I faced the challenge of following up 'Minimal Nation'. I canceled all my touring dates that summer, set up my studio in my living room, and started working on 'Internal Empire'. My intention was to create something distinctly different. Looking out my living room window in Detroit and watching people pass by gave me a new perspective. It made me look at the world within myself. Twenty-five years later, I'm still discovering.”
