Red Axes - Up [Shall Not Fade]

Red Axes created their own little musical world when they emerged with a psychedelic mix of real guitars and twisted synths, all locked to analogue house and techno rhythms. They had amassed a fine collection of those sounds on notable labels and now land on Shall Not Fade with their "Up" EP. It's the title track of the EP that opens with lithe, acidic lines running lazily across percussive grooves. "Casi O" is a rawer, more mechanical percussive riot, while "Boss" gets edgy, futuristic and brain melting. "Saturday Night" closes with perfectly resonant kicks and buzzing synths that sound like twisted metal.
