First released by Stevie Wonder in 1976, it was given new life when sampled by Coolio on his Grammy award-winning hit ‘Gangsta’s Paradise’. Over the years, it has also been covered by Patti Smith, as well as our favourite version, courtesy of Latin percussionist Ray Barretto. First released on CTI in 1981, it remains a staple for jazz and soul fans alike to this day.
