Raphael Schön - Heart Times [Running Back]

Raphael Schön might still be best known for his hit Fiesta 2000, but that should change with Heart Times. Hailing from Augsburg in Germany, RS represents a young generation of producers who draw their own conclusions from the golden days (insert your favourite era here) of dance music. Respectful and without treating it with kid gloves, he manages to inject fun, freshness and a fertile imagination into these sometimes dusty topics.

Conceived during a very emotional and turbulent time for Schön, it is a display of his entire spectrum as a producer. Imagine a singer-songwriter returning from his first rave. So on this six-track EP for Running Back, his sound ranges from classic house (Baerhit) to singer-songwriter progressive (Sometimes I Miss You), with soft trance (Distant City Tranceport) and catchy hits (Do You Like That) in between. A unifying, colourful bouquet of flowers on the dancefloor that isn't afraid of vocals, emotional nuances, and above all, bass lines and hooks to die for.
