Ralph White - DISC [Austudy]

The first official anthology of Ralph White’s 1978 disco recordings at Albert Studios, Sydney.

Renowned for his work as a session musician and producer in the Sydney music scene, Ralph White was invited by the M7 label to create four disco arrangements with the aim of releasing two maxi-singles targeting a rapidly expanding market eager for new dance music.

Over two days at Albert Studios in Sydney, Ralph, along with a small group of local musicians — including renowned guitarist Tommy Emmanuel — recorded four of the finest examples of disco sound ever produced in Australia.

Although the two maxi-singles received a modest reception in the Australian market, M7 sent numerous copies to larger markets such as Canada, India, and Argentina in hopes of greater returns. Over time, these vinyls have become highly coveted items, reaching prices of hundreds of dollars on the second-hand market.

Now, all four tracks are available again, remastered and presented in a spectacular textured sleeve with UV varnish details, accompanied by inserts with extensive liner notes and a biography of Ralph White.
