Quazar - The Seven Stars EP [Superstition Records]

QUAZAR are pioneers of the first generation of house and techno from the early 90s. Formed in Amsterdam by producer Gert van Veen, QUAZAR debuted in 1990 with the 12-inch single "The Seven Stars/Day-glo," which became an underground hit worldwide, from the UK and Germany to the US, Goa, and Australia. It is still considered one of the definitive classics of the original rave scene.

"The Seven Stars," a wild and exciting musical journey, full of instrumental crescendos and impulses, is a powerful techno track that ignited dance floors with its fierce energy. The raw and persuasive power of the A-side and the acid touch of "Moon Turns The Tide" are balanced with the smooth and melodic "Day-glo"—a precursor to later minimalist style and a favorite of Ricardo Villalobos, which unexpectedly became as popular as "The Seven Stars."

During Amsterdam Dance Event 2024, the "The Seven Stars" EP will be re-released on vinyl, followed two weeks later by the re-release of QUAZAR's first album, "Seven Stars." The 12-inch vinyl edition of the "The Seven Stars" EP features remastered versions of the three original tracks plus a 2024 remake of "The Seven Stars," mixed by Dutch house legend Olav Basoski.
