Quantic is a world music specialist and talented instrumentalist known primarily for his Cuban, Latin, and Afro fusions of everything from jazz to soul. But here, the man born Will Holland debuts on Aus Music, Will Saul’s long-running and suitably eclectic label, with five tracks of club-ready house, but all done in his own inimitable musical style. There are steel drums on ‘Let The Sparks Fly’ for a tropical feel, ‘Heaven Or Hell’ has irresistible old-school chords and grooving drums, and ‘Night Jaguars’ is a lively bossa beat. ‘OM617’ is a chunky and dubby traveller, and ‘Shake Your Demons’ closes with a solid, deep, late-night house vibe.
