Joe Babylon - Solitude

California's Joe Babylon has been navigating the enchanting waters of deep house with his Roundabout Sounds label for the last few years. Now, the producer makes a big statement with his debut album. He is something of a veteran, having co-founded Plug Research back in 1994 and putting on underground events in LA during the mid-90s. Following his collaborations with artists like Rick Wilhite and Rondenion, he now showcases his own dusty and carefully disheveled house sounds. They have been crafted using an MPC, which lends them their rugged-edged appeal, and range from more intimate club tracks to dub-tinged minimalism and late-night dreamscapes. This makes for a fresh take on a tried and tested house template.
