The German label RAWAX’s Treasures series is full of gems and now shines a light on West Coast house legends Fresh & Low, also known as Phresh N Low. The duo is widely recognized for their influential early 90s tech grooves and ingenious use of vocal samples, helping to define an entire generation of underground house.

This release brings back their 2000 EP, “New Wave Bang”, originally released on Deep Freeze Recordings. While leaning more towards electro than their usual rolling tech cuts, “New Wave Bang” maintains a fresh vibe thanks to the combined phrasing of its synthesizers. “Communicate” is somewhat reminiscent of Metro Area’s golden era, while “Breathless” closes with sparkling synthesizers tinkling over light and airy rhythms.
