Rekids kicks off with the release of an exciting new talent. South Korean-born DJ and producer Peggy Gou has been honing her production skills since her days in London. Now based in Berlin, Gou has drawn on her years as a DJ to shape a sound that draws on Detroit and New York house, as well as African rhythmic sensibility and boogie funk influences that she shares with the Early Sounds duo, Nu Guinea, with whom she took piano lessons and from whom she received production advice as her music took shape. In addition to her work as a stylist and fashion producer, Gou has also used her art and design skills to create the EP's artwork.

The 12” The Art of War includes two original productions plus a remix by Galcher Lustwerk, from the White Material label. The original mix of Troop focuses on a funky bassline that drives its tropical and dreamy groove, while Lustwerk's remix reinterprets the track with a more Fred P-like approach, full of jazzy and contemplative nuances. The EP's other original production, In Sum, reaffirms Gou's talent for creating raw and propulsive rhythms alongside subtle melodies.
