Chicago house legend Paul Johnson made plenty of fantastic music during his lifetime, though little quite as fondly remembered as 'Get Get Down' - a Hamilton Bohannon-sampling gem that became a global dancefloor anthem following its release in 1999. This Groovin' Record reissue brings together some of the track's strongest mixes released at the time and since - and as many of you will know, there have been many. Johnson's original extended mix, with its punchy piano stabs and scat vocals driven by a simple but effective bassline and one of house's most infectious basslines, is accompanied on side one by a handy 'Loopapella' of Johnson's famous vocal refrain. On the flip, Get Get Nairo's Latin House style revision is followed by the rave-rhythm madness of the 'XXX remix'.
