With their fourth release, Moving Pressure welcomes their first external artist: young Slovenian producer Obscur. With a characteristic sound that is potent and subtly psychedelic, his debut on the label does not stray from the core tenets of his sonic ethos. Obscur delivers minimalism with purpose: dynamic, intentional, and entirely physical.

‘F135’ opens the A-side with a sinister bent: elastic creaks stretch and coil around a flickering synthetic vocal. It’s tactile and uncanny, without losing momentum. Following is ‘Soul Eater’, a slow-burning crescendo, nesting psychedelic inflections in a warm low-end. On the flip, ‘Stockholm Syndrome’ pares everything down to the essentials. Stripped-back, dry rhythms hold an atmospheric tension: it’s austere yet playful, leaving space for darker nuances to remain unsettled. A precise and focused statement. ‘Blasphemy’ continues with a firmer percussive pulse and Feral-esque panned modulations. Trebles cut through a finely textured bedrock of grooves: functional at its core, but loaded with enough details to give it a sharper, more complex edge. The digital bonus, ‘Diamond City’, further expands the sonic palette. Not through layering, but tone: steely blues and deep violets bounce over metallic bips with a cinematic restraint, closing the EP on a thoughtful note.
