Ob Ignitt aka Omar S - Oh Jabba [FXHE]

FXHE continues its outer orbit after that spectacular "Triangulum Australe" 12-inch from Omar S, and presents its latest transmission of an outstanding year with "Oh Jabba," two house cuts for stargazing from O B Ignitt. His last appearance was collaborating with Omar S on the piece dedicated to Eddie Murphy's best role, and here the impression that Ignitt likes cinema is reinforced: the main theme references Star Wars and is accompanied by delightful lo-fi art with the slimy character on the inner label, dispelling any doubts.

The track itself is a wonderfully simple yet melodic house piece, with crunchy drum machine rhythms intensely pulsing beneath a serene ensemble of sliding Rhodes and Moog. To complement it, "Space Age Stepping" is a more exploratory journey, relying on rough drums and a bubbling analog bassline to achieve liftoff.
