Metodi Hristov - Build to Destroy [Drumcode]

Drumcode welcomes another debutant to the label as Metodi Hristov delivers his impressive ‘Build to Destroy’ EP. The Bulgarian DJ/producer has been building a strong repertoire over a decade, with quality releases on imprints such as Terminal M, Octopus and Filth on Acid, which has long kept him on Adam Beyer’s radar. In turn, Drumcode has always been a target label for Hristov. He explains: "I always wanted to release on Drumcode, but it wasn’t a fixed plan until October last year, when I fully embraced the idea and went for it with all my heart and mind. I ended up in a three-month-long studio session, from which I pulled out some of the best productions in my career." He was not wrong.

The EP kicks off with ‘Flatline’, a frankly sexy techno track, loaded with groove and charisma, driven by dreamy synth lines and a captivating vocal, while effortlessly balancing smooth and hard-hitting elements. ‘Build to Destroy’ is a wrecking beauty that kicks off with an energetic low-frequency foundation before moving into a succession of bass hits full of atmosphere and effects with varying rhythms and intensities. It's a dynamic track that maintains interest until the very end and a very strong addition to the Drumcode catalogue.
