Mennie - Signal Path EP [Hoarder Records]

A big shout out to the Hoarder label for hitting a quarter of a century of releases, and doing so with such a standout offering from Mennie. Right from the start, the sound is potent, with "Tuncha" coming in on kicks so heavy they'll rattle the walls, while ethereal synths flutter and an old-school style bass takes us back in time. "Want You Print" follows with a 90s-infused progressive sound, full of psychedelic undertones, while "Noha" takes off on a wave of warm, enveloping chords, accompanied by some classic finger snaps. "The Lost Tape" closes strongly, with its full-throttle drums and bass, accompanied by ascending breaks that guarantee an energetic finish.
