Having built his career via a mixture of inspired self-released EPs and outings on labels like Shall Not Fade and Happiness Therapy, Parisian producer Matthieu Faubourg lands on Housewax for the very first time. The five-track EP he delivers is undeniably impressive, fusing high-grade deep house grooves with intricate arrangements and mood-boosting musical details.

For proof, check opener 'Pressure Drop', where fluid piano motifs, bubbly electronics and gorgeous chords ride a rubbery analogue bassline and snappy drum machine percussion, and the fizzing, future-facing house of Norwegian space disco-inspired cut 'Oslo Track'.

Elsewhere, title track 'Normal Boy' is warm, ethereal and blissful, 'Waves' pays tribute to early 90s Italian deep house, and 'Haze' is a stab-laden, peak-time ready cut.
