At TSTD, we have long been followers of British producer, musician, and label owner Matt Hughes. For several years, he has been delivering refined, deep, and dub-infused reinterpretations for Too Slow To Disco; some in edit format and also with his two official remixes for Goodvibes Sound included in The Sunset Manifesto 2.

The two new TSTD edits on this 7” are authentic slow disco masterpieces, where he takes the originals and imprints them with his characteristic touch: deep, warm, and enveloping versions.

Who is this guy?

Matt Hughes is a music producer from the north of England with a passion for all things funk, soul, disco, jazz, and house. His most recent releases have appeared on labels such as Outcross Records, Bubblegum Pop, Editorial, and Too Slow To Disco.

Much of his work has been released under the MAM project with Miguel Campbell, remixing artists such as Climbers, Deadmau5, and Flight Facilities, as well as releasing music on labels such as Wolf+Lamb, Future Classic, Hot Creations, Outcross Records, BPitch Control, and Editorial Records, among others.

Among his most notable collaborations are works with Derrick McKenzie—drummer for Jamiroquai—, Drop Out Orchestra, and Art Of Tones. Each of these collaborations has allowed him to explore new musical dimensions and enrich his characteristic sound with diverse and fresh influences.

With a style deeply rooted in disco, funk, and jazz, Monsieur Van Pratt combines classic elements with contemporary nuances to create a sonic experience that is both nostalgic and innovative.
