Following a triumphant first release, Archivio Records returns with another gem of British Techno House from the golden era, courtesy of a true master of sound: Mark Ambrose.

This versatile three-track EP brings together two unreleased and previously unheard productions, rescued from old DATs, alongside a hard-hitting modern creation. From an artist known for his unique, psychedelic and challenging approach within the genre, the result is a feast spanning peak-time Tech House, hypnotic Techno, and emotionally charged Acid House.

A-side, Mountain Storm, is simply epic, an instantly recognizable future classic. Hard-hitting, percussion-laden drums set the tone from the outset, before a titanic, rumbling bassline sweeps everything away. Disorienting vocals fade in and out, until hauntingly familiar strings arrive straight from the State of 808, building the necessary tension to prepare for the key moment: an unsettling, poignant, and entirely relevant monologue for current times, performed by a renowned but uncredited Jamaican poet.

B1, Get On Down, takes the listener to the center of the dancefloor, in the midst of a techno-leaning after-set. Think Christian AB in mischievous mode…

Industrial, dark, and sparkling rhythms lead the way, followed by a powerful yet playful bassline. Hip hop vocals entice you to move on the dancefloor as they swirl around you, until a sharp arpeggio launches the listener into the cosmos at the track's climax.

B2, Deep Sea, couldn't have a more fitting name. An underwater, melancholic journey dragged to the bottom of the Atlantic, presented at a lower BPM, making it perfect for both opening and closing a set.

The Brooklyn-based record store proves that their label is no flash in the pan with this outstanding release from the head of Crayon Records. Unmissable.
