In July of 1983, Hebrew Israeli vocalist, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Margeeah Aharon recorded her debut album Looking For Love with the community band Kingdom Sounds at P.C. Studios in Tel Aviv, Israel. Aptly titled — given the meaning of her name in Hebrew: gentle, serene, and tranquil — it is an exploratory blend of devotional jazz, soul, funk, and reggae. But Looking For Love is much more than that: it’s an album full of yearning and reflective songs about spirit, heart, and finding inner solace. Thirty-six years after its original release as a private press vinyl, the core themes and music of Looking For Love remain timeless and everlasting.
