Belgian techno veteran Marco Bailey lands on Watergate with a debut that promises to pique the curiosity of many, exploring territories closer to electro.

DJ, producer, and label boss, Bailey boasts a career spanning over three decades in electronic music, maintaining the same enthusiasm and passion that has characterized him since his beginnings. He closed 2021 with the release of his sixth studio album, Surreal Stage, an ambitious and introspective work released through his successful Materia label. In addition to his own productions, his discography includes releases on highly prestigious labels such as Second State, ARTS, and Bedrock Records, as well as being one of the first artists to release music on Carl Cox's iconic INTEC label. Although his name is closely linked to techno, his talent in the studio goes far beyond the limits of a single genre, and this release offers a rare opportunity to discover a different facet of his musical proposal.

"From My Mind" opens the journey and makes an immediate impression thanks to its powerful synth bassline, an ascending and enveloping melody, and distorted robotic vocals. It is followed by "The Spirit," which captivates from the start with a free and dynamic evolution, flowing without restrictions. If the promise of an electro foray caught your attention, "Pulse" responds emphatically: an energetic track, driven by dominant and ascending chords that move powerfully throughout the composition.

The German duo Extrawelt and Belgian producer Biesmans contribute new versions of "From My Mind," highlighting some of the elements that make this electro adventure so memorable. Meanwhile, Steve Rachmad revives his Sterac Electronics alias to offer a deeper and darker reinterpretation, loaded with tension and enveloping atmospheres that invite repeated listening. Techno stalwart The Advent joins Zein Ferreira to deliver an incendiary version, driven by ascending notes and twisted details that intertwine under the vocal lines. Finally, emerging Belgian artist Axel Haube closes the package with a reinterpretation guided by an enveloping bassline, a celestial melody, and luminous keyboards that uplift the spirit and point directly to the dancefloor.
