Marc Romboy - Speicher 120 [Kompakt]

Tomorrow's bass drums are rumbling again in today's clubs, enveloped in smoke and strobe lights. Kompakt's Speicher series always strives to provide dance floors with a soundtrack that gives our mind and body temporary refuge and escape. We feel this is more needed than ever, considering the darkness that surrounds us in these times.

We welcome back Marc Romboy, a talented producer, DJ, and friend who has been behind the decks as a key supporter of Kompakt music from the very beginning. Furthermore, Marc is a shrewd musician, with releases on many prestigious labels, from Ovum to Innervisions and, of course, his own label Systematic Recordings, his music is incredibly varied.

They say the third time's the charm, but in this case he returns to our Speicher series with a two-track EP that feels more like a sequel, true to the excellent consistency of his previous productions. Armed only with a Buchla Music Easel, the Roland TR-909 and an Arp 2600, "Randomized" is pure techno, twisted into a complete frenzy. Marc pays homage to legendary Californian synthesizer inventor Don Buchla with the hypnotic track "Monsieur Buchla".
