Manuold, always well-dressed with an impeccably groomed beard — his real name is Emmanuele Macagnone — has released excellent productions since his debut in 2017, including well-received EPs on labels such as House Puff and Madhouse Records. Now he brings his elegant approach to deep house to GLBDOM for the first time. With its bubbling synth bass, loose garage-house flavored drums, gospel vocal samples, and warm pads, Jersey sounds like a lost gem from Kerri Chandler. He continues with the retro-futuristic aesthetic on Hot & Crunchy, a jazzy and relaxed cut, before paying homage to the fusion of deep house and tech-house in Zanzibar, with clear Tenaglia influences. On the other side of the vinyl, Night Long is a solid example of 21st-century New Jersey deep house with an Italian twist, while In The Clouds shows him successfully embracing his Italo-house influences without losing the dreamy and robust deep house touch.
