Manuel Tur - Intertextural Remixes [Spaced Repetitions]

Following the recent vinyl reissue of Manuel Tur's cinematic downtempo album, Intertextural, originally self-released during the Covid-19 pandemic, comes this fresh remix package featuring interpretations of four standout tracks from the record by DJ Counselling, All Is Well, and Yuu Udagawa.

London-based DJ Counselling opens the EP with his energetic take on "Omina," lifting the tempo and spirits with a perfectly executed arrangement, while added filtered synth chords evoke some of Tur's best-known releases from the late 2000s. Next up is Frédéric Blais, aka Montreal's All Is Well, who, following the success of his recent LP on Drumpoet and with another new album under his main moniker, Fred Everything, transforms "Flakon" into a groovy masterpiece reminiscent of the original's subtle 90s trip-hop touch. On the B-side, Tokyo's Yuu Udagawa, who has collaborated with Tur on several occasions, unleashes two beautiful, ethereal remixes of "Slow White" and "Shadowgraph" that send us floating through her signature shimmering sound.
