Maceo Plex hasn't released original material on Drumcode since 2014 when the hugely successful 'Conjure Infinity' EP dropped. Despite that he's been a very present figure at DC events over the last year. Maintaining a very close relationship with Adam Beyer, the pair have delivered memorable B2B sets at the Warehouse Project, Ultra Music Festival and Resistance's inaugural Ibiza party this summer, further cementing their strong musical connection.

Produced earlier in 2019, 'Destination Mars' marks his spectacular return to Beyer's iconic imprint. The track bears Maceo's characteristic signature: a masterclass in tension and release, defined by a deep, polished bassline that gradually builds in intensity while crunchy drum lines and ethereal vocal accents effectively combine with the lead vocal, contributed by none other than Josh Wink. Unsurprisingly, it caused quite a stir when debuted at Time Warp's gigantic 25th-anniversary celebration back in April, and has since been a highlight in the Ellum boss's sets.

The ever-reliable Raxon takes on remix duties, stripping back some of the track's drive to focus on a lead melody, an enveloping bassline, and hypnotic vocal effects. Shall Ocin's rework, meanwhile, is designed for hazy mornings, where celestial pads build towards a transcendental climax that brings the journey to a perfect close.
