On Record Store Day, Vega Records celebrates with the new release "My Body," performed by none other than the legend and king of R&B and soul, Luther Vandross. This is a song that was never released and was recorded in 1979 by Luther Vandross while working on the colossal album "Never Too Much." The track came into Louie Vega's hands through the artist and renowned background vocalist for big stars, Mr. Fonzi Thornton, and Vega was able to work on Vandross's impeccable sounds.

As Vega recalls: “When I laid the tracks in my studio, it sounded like Luther was singing today. That made it very easy to get to the house grooves, having such a perfect vocal performance and unique tone. Once I had the music, I felt I needed to bring in his original background singers, the A-team, which Fonzi arranged in an instant. He called the great singers Brenda White, Lisa Fischer, Cindy Mizelle, Tawatha Agee, and he himself joined the session. We're talking about the A-team of background singers, a dream come true in my studio,” Vega recalls. “And what a session it was!”
