Luke Alessi - After Five EP [Life and Death]

Australian producer Luke Alessi returns to DJ Tennis’ iconic Life and Death label with his latest record, the “After Five” EP.

Picture an over-the-top, excessive, riotous 1920s cocktail party, with moments of blaring brass, meeting 70s funk and disco grooves that envelop and immerse you into a hypnotic state, all while the voice of Barry White guides you through the whole experience. “After Five” was designed to make you feel sexy, in rhythm, and a little bit wild.

A sonic journey through melancholic elegance and nocturnal allure, the release is complemented by remixes from innovative producers Pablo Bozzi and Aldonna.

The lead track, “After Five,” released in November 2024, received an outpouring of praise, demonstrating Luke Alessi’s talent for crafting sophisticated beats that resonate on dancefloors. It was named an Essential New Tune by Pete Tong on his coveted BBC Radio 1 show, in addition to over ten editorial playlist features on Spotify and Apple Music, and support from heavy-hitting DJs such as DJ Tennis, Dixon, La Fleur, Laurent Garnier, Jimi Jules, and Demi Riquísimo. It’s clear his track has struck a universal chord.

Pablo Bozzi’s remix follows this success, set to release on January 17th, adding his signature Italo touch to the lead track, transforming it into a hedonistic, raucous party anthem. Known for her idiosyncratic sound that reflects her deep interest in 90s and early 2000s sounds, Aldonna finds her sweet spot between House, Progressive, and Trance with her remix of “Day Dreams of Beaches,” reflecting exactly this. The full EP, an irresistible mix of two original and reimagined tracks, drops on January 31st, poised to set the tone for 2025.

Already part of the Life and Death family from “Bey Beh” and “Dale Dale,” Luke Alessi’s music exists in its own lane, refusing to be pigeonholed into a conventional genre.
