Louie Vega presents Unlimited Touch - I Hear Music In The Streets [Nervous]

Grammy Award winner Louie Vega has the unique knack for highlighting and bringing to the forefront the most essential elements of classic dance tracks and re-mixing and re-creating them to create something equally powerful for today’s audiences. Currently in the midst of putting the finishing touches on his upcoming album, Expansions In The NYC, Louie took some extra time to gather the original members of the seminal NYC disco funk band, Unlimited Touch, and collaborate with them at the Log Cabin Studio in Manhattan and his own Daddy’s Workshop Studio in New Jersey to produce the 2020 edition of I Hear Music In The Streets.

Unlimited Touch is comprised of Audrey Wheeler (lead vocalist), Phil Hamilton, Tony Cintron, Sandy Anderson (RIP), Stephanie James and Lenny Underwood. I Hear Music In The Streets was originally released on the legendary Prelude Records label in 1981.

Growing up in the Bronx, from an early age Louie had an affinity and love for all genres of music that were emerging in NYC during that defining creative era. It’s that passion that has remained with him during a career that has led him to Grammy wins, multiple worldwide hit records, and a position as one of the most in-demand DJs in the world. It was especially gratifying for Louie to work with the original members of Unlimited Touch. He quickly realized that their talents were still as strong as ever, as they performed the musical and vocal elements of the original song, and that they had the vision of how the song could be re-energized by Louie adding his unique production elements to this seminal track.

Louie is in the midst of an especially prolific and productive period. In 2016 he released the Grammy-nominated album Louie Vega Starring….XXVIII; 2018 saw the release of the critically acclaimed and high-performing NYC Disco 2 X CD and 4-vinyl album on Nervous Records. Universally known as “The Maestro” due to the standards of excellence he holds himself to in his productions, DJ performances, and live appearances with his Elements of Life band, Louie Vega is set to release another gem that will add to one of the most remarkable bodies of work in the music industry.
