Louie Fresco - Pride [FR016]

Mr. Cool, also known as Louie Fresco or El Cabrone, has something potent here. Get it, potent, because he’s from Mexico City, and because the EP is called Picante (Spicy).

Pride is a massive track of hard-hitting bass. Endless percussive grooves, mind-melting sounds, and a trippy vocal to round it all out. Pride has a modern minimal rhythm and that greasy, rhythmic percussion that Mexicans do so well, even a low rumble that hits just the right spot.

On the flip side of the vinyl is K-Dot. This track sounds amazing, heart-wrenching, a crazy progression that advances and evolves. Put that record on and just watch people make twisted faces and dance like puppets with pulled strings.

Mr. Cool nailed this, and I question his sanity and life choices. No normal person makes music like this.
