In certain circles, this record would easily be called "timeless". In 1996, when it was originally released, it sounded like nothing else, and still does. It is the sixth record on Frankfurt's soon-to-be-imperial Playhouse label and Losoul's first collaboration with the label. It connected many things at once: house and techno, American roots and European fruits, rawness and wit, high-tech funk, the expansion of playing times and the concept of minimalism in dance music. Elegance met effectiveness.

It was a composition that hooked you in and also caused a stir elsewhere. Daniel Bell licensed it for his Elevate label and commissioned a young Theo Parrish to remix it, Michel De Hey did the same for his EC Records label with treatments from Gerd, among others.

Here you finally get both, carefully restored, remastered, and reissued alongside the originals. Widely presented on a double 12" vinyl, it also includes the previously unreleased track D1. From the same era as "Open Door," it sounds and feels like a compact lost sibling. As addictive as day one and here to stay.
