Dutch artist LEYO presents his debut album via Cécille Records this September, comprising eight original tracks and featuring collaborations from Toman and Thierry Ganz.

LEYO is a project hailing from Amersfoort, Netherlands, debuting with an LP crafted using a full band setup, vocals from Thierry Ganz, and a special collaboration from fellow Dutchman Toman. The debut album showcases LEYO’s breadth of influences, moving between soulful electro-pop and funk-tinged disco, through to grittier house and sun-drenched lounge cuts.

Opening track ‘Hello (Intro)’ sets the tone with broken beats, psychedelic guitars, and a dreamy phone call vocal, before ‘Don’t Do It’ picks up the pace with funky guitar licks, organic percussion, and echoing synths accompanied by sporadic vocal chants. The first appearance of Thierry Ganz arrives with ‘Know Your Name’, fusing his hypnotic vocal style with choppy basslines, cinematic strings, and crisp disco drums. ‘Open Up The Trunk Do It’ switches gears to more jazzy tinged raw house territory, thanks to shimmering keys, saturated drums, and a wobbling bassline.

Next up, LEYO welcomes Toman and Thierry Ganz for ‘That Booty’ — a high-energy disco house cut, propelled by swung drums, soulful vocals, and tension-heavy atmospherics. ‘That’s Why’ slows the pace to a more dream-like aesthetic with floating keys, wandering synths, congas, and whispered vocals. The penultimate full track, ‘Without You’, deploys a shuffling rhythm section, plucky guitars, hypnotic chords, and filtered vocals throughout its six and a half minute runtime. The close comes with ‘On My Mind ft. Thierry Ganz (Outro)’, a full-blown funk ode, as Ganz returns with his signature vocal style uttering the track title, atop a melodic bassline, skipping drums, wandering guitars, and Moog-esque synths.
