Lewis Fautzi - Methods Of Nothing EP [PoleGroup]

Portuguese techno master Lewis Fautzi returns home after a while with his signature rough and solid techno style.

For this release, he presents four cuts intended as highly pressurized DJ tools, starting with “Total Absence,” which kicks off with a firm groove reinforced by low frequencies; the intensity grows measure by measure with additional percussive layers and electrified drones floating over the beat.

“Paranoia” follows, with clean and solid kicks, elastic sequences, and sharp atmospheres that collide in another mind exercise.

On the B-side, “Ground State” offers another interpretation, with a choppier approach to the rhythms, precisely distorted and accompanied by a sharp detail that appears from beyond the spectrum.

Closing the EP, “Uncertainty” is the rawest exercise on the release; once again, distortion is used intelligently, and the approach is more industrial than in the previous cuts.

Further proof of the mastery of this fundamental producer in today's serious techno scene.
