Lee Stevens - Maskaron EP [Luv Shack]

Viennese native Lee Stevens returns to Luv Shack Records with his first solo EP. The opening track, 'Right On,' crafts a sonic universe for dance music with powerful synthesizers. 'Maskaron' sounds like a full homage to new wave and the dark side of Italo disco, with choruses that evoke 70s Western films. In 'Trippin' On Your Love,' Stevens delves into proto-house and synth-dance, featuring an arpeggiated bass and occasional breakbeats. The fourth track, 'Ju Know,' features Simonlebon in a melancholic jam, with intense low synths, bittersweet vocal samples, and 80s pop-style piano chords. The closing track, 'Destruction,' showcases tight 808 drums accompanying a dark bassline and eerie vocals, with synth chords reminding us that there is still hope.
