K-LONE - Catching Wild, Pt. 1 [Aus Music]

Wisdom Teeth co-founder K-Lone will release two EPs on Aus Music: the first installment, which pays homage to UKG and house flavors, is due mid-May, whilst the second, offering a deeper broken techno vibe, arrives late-June. 'Give It Up' opens Part 1 with a bubbly rhythm and a bass line that percolates through organic and woody percussion. Lush pads and neon lines spiral skywards to a silky and seductive effect, while various other samples and splashes of colour bring the groove to life. The intoxicating 'Wait 4 U' is a classic K-Lone house cut, with a wobbling low-end, sensual sax stabs, and melted R&B samples that awake the senses alongside warm, hazy synth lines.

On the flip side, 'What I Want' ups the tempo but maintains a depth and smoothness with rubbery kicks and a sticky bass overlaid with soft chord stabs that will make the floor rumble. Finally, 'Own Way' closes with a bass line that draws you deeper as muted vocal sounds and glowing chords hook you into an infectious groove fit for the most intimate of dance floors.

British trailblazer K-Lone fronts the Wisdom Teeth label alongside producer Facta and has put out everything from club-oriented garage to innovative home-listening records. Whether creating kinetic rhythms and lively bass or soundtracking a lazy summer afternoon with synthesised bird calls and lush marimbas, the London-born artist is a proven studio wizard.
