Almost any 21st-century techno fan has probably known or experienced an identity crisis at some point, if only for the inherently destabilizing quality of the music. But Jsprv35 goes further with the concept, equating human identity with a purely mechanistic function. The Identity Malfunction EP is the logical outcome of this philosophy, with grim track titles like Cybotronik and Science pushing harder electro and breaks into the robotic ears of us lossless techno clones. The title track is clearly the glitch-filled highlight; we don't know if what's heard between the impacts is a forced robotic voice or simply the electrical gurgling of a corrupted quantum circuit, but we also love not being able to tell the difference.
