Jozef K - Falling Horizontal [Rawax]

Jozef K follows up 2020's Planet Doom on Rawax with this distinctive three-track EP. The lead track centres on metallic, rolling drums, accompanied by gradually rising synths, making for a deep and expansive house experience. On "Whatup Detroit", Jozef takes a different approach. Built around a stabbing acid line and muted samples, a slithering groove and raw percussions give it the necessary drive. "Yonige-Ya" shows the British producer exploring yet another direction. While still focused on the sound of the 303, he fuses it with a distorted bassline. Developing over subtle grooves, it brings this excellent release to an intoxicating close.
