Jonathan Jr. / Special Occasion - Hangin’ On To You / Flyin’ To Santa Barbara [Favorite Recordings]

We are delighted to present this new 12-inch vinyl release, continuing our quest to unearth previously compiled gems from some of our various reissue series. This time, it felt natural to highlight two exceptional tracks that share numerous commonalities.

"Hangin' On to You" by Jonathan Jr. and "Flyin' To Santa Barbara" by Special Occasion, both originating from Belgium, were produced in the mid-80s under the direction of Tony Baron, a producer and artist closely associated with several projects from the New Beat movement and intimately linked to the Nunk Records label. Both tracks also appeared in the now out-of-print fourth edition of our AOR Global Sounds compilation series.

But beyond coincidence, these two pieces are a perfect example of the fusion between Disco rhythms and sound with the smooth and colorful style of AOR productions from that era. Presented here in their 12-inch versions, these gems are sure to delight both DJs and music lovers alike.
