Jimpster - Smile For A While [Freerange Records]

The legendary British deep house figurehead, Jimpster, returns with another installment of his high-quality sounds on his Freerange label. The exquisite A-side is entirely occupied by "Smile For A While", a bright, nightly lullaby of sorts, with soft but insistent drums, enveloping chords, celestial pads, and angelic vocals. On the B-side, we find "Echoes In My Head", a more sensual and hedonistic groove in the style of Ron Trent, with bubbling keys and a hypnotically swirling bassline. The trio Head in the Clouds messes everything up with a charming lo-fi rework, playful and full of character.
