Out of the entire package of "I Human" remixes, this is probably the funkiest 12-inch of them all. It's a reunion of some of the funkiest remixers and producers around.
Having just released their debut album "EFUNK," Charles Levine and Eli Goldstein, aka Soul Clap, are considered the masters of the funkier side of house. With tons of remixes accumulated in their carry-on baggage over the past three years, they still managed to come up with a rather original idea here: deconstruct the track into pieces and reassemble it to create a dancefloor bomb. Hands in the air guaranteed.
Berlin funkateers G.I. DISCO build an 80s electrofunk reinterpretation in the vein of Cameo or Zapp. Don't expect vocoder, though, because fortunately they didn't dare mess with Paul Randolph's beautiful voice.
Dennis McFarlane, aka Dego aka 2000Black, is no rookie in this game called funk. The London producer has been a key figure in almost every genre you can imagine over the last twenty years: from drum & bass to broken beat and dub house, and much more. To construct a modern funk monster, McFarlane re-recorded the entire song (instruments by Aladin) and only kept Paul Randolph's vocals. Pure funk.
