There's much to admire on this debut collaborative EP from Rotterdam residents Jamie 3:26 and Danou P, not least epic, captivating A-side cut 'Roy Layers' – a warm, dreamy tribute to the musically expansive deep house of Roy Ayers. A genuine epic stretching out for 13 magical minutes, the track boasts a variety of jazzy-funk style spacey synth solos and expressive vibraphone sessions that soar above a relaxed, organic deep house groove. Over on the flip, 'Bushman B' sees them intertwining a tougher, precise, devilishly sub-heavy house beat with emotion-rich, energy-packed Hammond organ riffs, while 'Rug Burn' is a sweat-soaked, sample-heavy beast brimming with gospel organs and weighty kick-drums.
