James Curd, Osunlade - Chocolate Puddin' [Get Physical]

James Curd emerged as a DJ in Chicago and has gone on to become a staple of the scene. He is also credited with inventing G-Swing, a swing-infused house sound. He has headed up various labels over the years while releasing music on some of the world's best labels and offering his magic sets at places like fabric in London, The Avalon in Los Angeles and The Arches in Glasgow. Meanwhile, American Osunlade has deep spiritual roots in the Yoruba traditions which are also reflected in the name of his record label. He makes music with a rare spirituality, as is once again showcased here.

The magnificent 'Chocolate Puddin’' is smooth, deep and afro-tinged house music with beautiful percussive melodies and gentle shakers. It is full of soul and warmth with meaningful leads that bring plenty of uplifting emotions along with a blues-tinged vocal.

On the remix is regular Moroccan label associate and collaborator FNX Omar. He reshapes the track into something richly structured with lithe percussion and bass, organic claps and hypnotic drum lines that draw you deep.

This package is as delicious as the name suggests and will be followed by a second remix package in early 2024.
