Introspekt’s highly anticipated debut album, “Moving The Center,” arrives almost a year after the release of her most recent EP, “Tectónica.” Due out on June 20, “Moving The Center” showcases Introspekt paying homage to dubstep’s South London point of origin, before shifting the spotlight from a single focus to a more global narrative of bass and vibration.

The album combines UK bass with contrasting genres like garage and ballroom, creating an ideal feminine blend of historically masculine-associated styles. It also connects the Black diaspora on both sides of the Atlantic, building a sound universe where past, present, and future coexist in parallel, immersed in a dubstep landscape that harks back to the early millennium.

About the album, Introspekt says: “‘Moving The Center’ embodies an alternative perspective to what has dominated dance music, particularly so-called ‘bass music.’ The narrative it presents introduces a rupture in the common perception of dubstep as a masculinist sensibility. ‘Moving The Center’ brings a feminine physicality to the forefront of bass systems.
