The newly formed Inner City Sound Archives label is supposedly the work of a collective of obsessive DJs and collectors who, as they tell it, have managed to unearth a series of open-reel tapes with unreleased disco tracks from the late 70s and early 80s. Whether true or not, what is undeniable is that there is real gold among the six tracks included here.

It starts with "Avenue A (Tape Transfer - 82)", a deep and swinging disco cut adorned with attractive synth solos. Then comes the synth-boogie joy of "Daylight Dub (Garage Reel No. 3)", followed by the Steely Dan-esque vibes taken to disco territory of "Sunset Mirage (NYC Edit - 1979)".

On the B-side, the exquisite deep disco with prominent brass in "Coast To Heaven (unreleased rehearsal)" shares space with the disco-funk excellence of "Echoes of Pleasure (alternate mix)" and the brilliant disco-infused dub of "Dubplate Jam (78-A)".
