IMOGEN - Metanoia [Tresor]

The word “resistance” is deeply rooted in the essence of techno. For her debut release on **Tresor Records**, British artist and Tresor resident, **IMOGEN**, explores the concept of resilience – a related and equally vital theme. Taking its name from a theological term meaning a fundamental change of mind or spiritual conversion, **Metanoia** is fuelled by IMOGEN’s process of dealing with what she describes as one of the most challenging years of her life. 

Any struggle against injustice or adversity requires time and effort, demanding an inner strength not only to overcome difficulties but also to prevent falling into despair or bitterness during the process. IMOGEN’s journey is synthesised in the lead track, **The Way She Moves**, as resilience is, in essence, the persistence to continue and move forward. 

The struggle against adversity is reflected in titles such as **Tired Bones** and **Growing in the Dark**, before reaching a sense of catharsis in **Breathe Again** and **Melancholy Flower**. The music also reflects these experiences, traversing moments of sadness and anger, before finally arriving at acceptance and a renewed motivation towards self-actualisation and greater introspection. After all, the ultimate goal of any resistance is liberation.
