Ian Pooley - Studio A pt2. [Rekids]

Ian Pooley returns to Radio Slave’s Rekids with Studio A Pt. 2. The second instalment in a three-part series of music based in his studio, Ian Pooley’s ‘Studio A Pt. 2’ for Radio Slave’s Rekids label features the legendary house producer delivering another quality selection of body-moving hardware productions.

Heading up the A-side are the fluctuating synths and distorted vocal samples of ‘JV Organ & Matrix’, wriggling through enchanting effects and a rumbling bassline. The track’s ‘Version 2’ follows, warping elements of the original into a swirling groove, with faded processing and stereo magic meeting classic dub techniques.

On the flip side, ‘Back Up’ maintains a high-energy, no-frills approach with hard-hitting drums and menacing acid lines, alongside a bonus, more stripped-back digital ‘Beats Bass’ version. Rounding off the 12” is ‘101202’, a slice of crisp and dreamy house, with beautiful filtered pads floating in tandem with a deep bass and lively percussion.

Active since the early ‘90s, the German DJ and producer has released music on labels such as Force Inc, V2 Records, and his own Pooledmusic imprint, as well as delivering remixes for artists like Deee-Lite, Carl Cox, and many more, and has also been one of the very few artists remixed by Daft Punk.
